First registered in May 1971
Delivered in Switzerland by Garage Foitek
Matching numbers and color
54 years in the same family
Swiss road registration with veteran status
The Lamborghini Espada was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 1968 and was one of the most successful classic Lamborghinis. It is considered the precursor to later 2+2 models and one of the most striking GT icons of the 1970s.
The car offered here is a rare 400 GT Espada Series 2, of which only about 575 were produced, and was delivered in Switzerland. It was delivered in early May 1971 from the Lamborghini factory in Sant’Agata Bolognese, in Argento color with a Nero leather interior, to the then Lamborghini importer, Garage Foitek in Zurich. The car was handed over to its first owner by Garage Foitek at the end of May 1971, and just one year later it passed into the family, where it remained for the next 54 years. This beautiful Lamborghini Espada has always been professionally maintained and serviced. For almost 30 years, it was looked after by Garage Foitek and then for over 24 years by Garage Limacher. It is matching numbers and color and, with MOT-veteran, is in well-maintained and very original collector’s condition. Its history is fully documented, with many records dating back to 1971. Even the new car invoices from Lamborghini to the Swiss importer and those from the initial delivery are available, as is the user manual.
