Rare version – steel, dry sump
Swiss road registration with veteran entry
The Ferrari 308 GTB offered here is one of the very rare ones with dry sump lubrication. It was delivered to the last owner by the Ferrari dealer Autodino (Foitek) in Zurich at the end of April 1980 in the color Rosso Corsa and leather Brown. The car was in his possession for over 43 years and would most certainly still be today if he had not, unfortunately, passed away. The 308 GTB was always perfectly cared for. It has never seen a snowflake, let alone a grain of salt and is in absolute top collector condition with just over 59’000 original kilometers. The new car invoice, on-board folder with all documentation, owner’s manual, emissions maintenance document and complete service booklet are present as well as the original on-board tools and jack. During our decades of activity in this industry, we have never seen such a complete, always with Ferrari specialists, led service book. This beautiful Ferrari 308 GTB comes fresh from service with replaced timing belt and tensioners.
We wrestled with ourselves for a long time whether we should even put this bijou up for sale or integrate it into our Private Collection – only one previous owner, 59’000 kilometers and all documents in top original, almost new condition – for a collector like gold dust.
The Ferrari 308 was sold from 1975 to 1985 as Coupé (308 GTB) and Spider (308 GTS).
The 308 GTB and GTS built until 1980 had a mixture preparation by four Weber double carburetors.
Only the 308 GTB built for the European market until 1980 had an engine with dry sump lubrication. Cars for overseas and the 308 GTS and all later Berlinetta and Spider successor models with an intake manifold injection had engines with a wet sump lubrication.
