A total of 540 examples of the MV Agusta 750 Sport America were built from 1975 to 1977, with model variants up to 1978.
When Japanese motorcycle manufacturers appeared on the global motorcycle market around 1970, both British and Italian motorcycle manufacturers got into financial difficulties. In 1975, the Americans Chris Garville and Jim Cothermann initiated the new edition of the MV Agusta 750 S. The appearance was to be based more closely on the racing bikes and thus increase sales figures in the USA in particular. The designs of the two entrepreneurs were implemented at the Gallarate plant within 50 days.
Contemporary MV Agusta 750 S and subsequent models from this first series achieved a high level of prestige and exclusivity thanks to the racing successes of MV Agusta’s factory team Reparto Corse, among other things.
