MG MGC GT
First Registration 1970, MG MGC GT, 4-Speed with Overdrive
Swiss Delivery in March 1968
First owner from 1968 till 2000 (all prev-owners are also known afterwards)
British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate
Swiss Road Registration with „Veteran“ entry
This MGC was delivered in Switzerland in spring 1968 and remained in the same ownership until 2000. The owner history is also fully known. An extensive restoration was finished in 2008 and since then this MGC has remained in breathtakingly beautiful condition. The original colour “Pale Primerose Yellow” was retained and the interior is in original condition with black leather and white piping. From the factory this MGC was delivered with the optional four-speed gearbox and overdrive.
The MG MGC GT was built from 1967 onwards and production was stopped again in 1969. During this short production time, just 4458 MGC GT Coupés with the six-cylinder engine were built. However, the cars were sold for much longer. The press at the time criticised the increased front weight and the tendency to understeer compared to the four-cylinder MGB. Nowadays, modern tyre technology and fine-tuning of the chassis settings have resolved this criticised drawback. An MGC is great fun to drive and the unbeatable sound of the in-line six-cylinder with its strong power character leaves any MGB with a four-cylinder far behind!
