MGB GT (Coupé)
First registration 04.1971
Swiss road registration with veteran entry
The MGB GT offered here with 4-speed gearbox and overdrive was in the last ownership for over 27 years and always received the best care and maintenance. The pictures speak for themselves that this collector’s MGB GT in British Racing Green with 77,000 km is in fantastic, very original and well-maintained collector’s condition.
Originally a roadster was offered, which was followed in the 1965 model year by an estate coupé under the designation MGB GT. This car had a body designed by Pininfarina with a large tailgate, was designed as a 2+2 seater and could almost be considered a shooting brake.
The driving performance, including the acceleration, of the MGB was quite respectable in its day, which can be attributed to its low weight. Easy handling was one of its strengths.
The MGB successfully took part in road races such as the Monte Carlo Rally, the 12 Hours of Sebring, endurance races in Spa, etc., where it sometimes had to compete against significantly stronger and more expensive rivals, sometimes beating them and repeatedly taking class victories.
