The Mercedes-Benz 190 SL was created at the suggestion of the US importer Max Hoffmann. The first prototype was presented in 1954 in New York and was received enthusiastically by the public and the press. The slightly modified production model was then shown at the Geneva Motor Show in 1955. The beautifully designed roadster embodied the “we-are-somebody-again” feeling of the economic miracle era like no other vehicle. With 25,881 vehicles built, the model proved to be extremely successful, especially in the USA. Many celebrities such as Grace Kelly, Alfred Hitchcock or Frank Sinatra presented themselves with the roadster.
This exceptionally beautiful Mercedes-Benz 190 SL in a very attractive color combination was delivered to Belgium in 1959 and came seven years later with the first owner together to Switzerland, where the Mercedes-Benz remained until today. The 190 SL was in its first hands for 30 years and was documented in great detail from 1959 to 1996. Various original documents such as the original car invoice, service booklets, data card and many other documents are available. The car has been regularly serviced and comes from third hand. In addition, in 1990 the entire car was restored. A corresponding photo documentation proves the immense effort.
This is a unique opportunity to acquire a top documented Mercedes-Benz 190 SL Roadster from third hand.
