Lamborghini Espada
First registration 04.1972
Swiss delivery by Garage Foitek
Matching numbers and color
In the same family ownership since delivery
Swiss road registration with veteran entry
The Lamborghini Espada was presented at the Geneva Motor Show in 1968.
The car offered here is a 400 GT Espada Series 2 and a Swiss delivery. It was delivered in July 1971 from the Lamborghini factory in Sant’Agata Bolognese, in the color Acqua Verde and leather interior Verde Chiaro, to the then Lamborghini importer, Garage Foitek in Zurich. The car was handed over to the first owner by Garage Foitek in April 1972 and remained in the same family ownership for the entire 53 years. About 1,000 km ago, the technology was overhauled and a little further back the entire body and underbody were restored. This beautiful Lamborghini Espada is matching numbers and color and is, veteran-tested, in top-maintained and very original collector’s condition. Various documents such as the original vehicle registration from 1972/73 and even the new car invoices from Lamborghini to the Swiss importer and those from the first delivery are present, as is the original on-board folder with user manual and operating instructions.
The Lamborghini Espada is a four-seater Gran Turismo Coupé that Lamborghini produced from 1968 to 1978. It was designed by Marcello Gandini at Bertone and was intended to be a luxurious alternative to the Lamborghini Miura, but with enough space for four people.
The Espada was one of the most successful classic Lamborghinis with 1217 units produced. It is considered the forerunner of later 2+2 models and one of the most striking GT icons of the 1970s.
