The Jaguar E-Type is undisputedly one of the most beautiful automobiles ever built and already celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2021. It features everything that makes a sports car desirable; it has a low point of gravity, enjoys an extremely elegant appearance and is also very fast. The lines of the E-Type were created according to aerodynamic criterias that had already helped its predecessors, the C-Type and D-Type, to their five Le Mans victories. At the presentation of the E-Type at the Geneva Motor Show in 1961, the Jaguar caused a great stir and even Enzo Ferrari is said to have said “La più bella macchina dell mondo” at the sight of it.

The 1968 4.2 liter E-Type presented here has many improvements over the original 3.8 liter model built, notably the 4.2 liter 6 cylinder engine with even more torque, the fully synchronized Jaguar 4 speed transmission, a stronger braking system and better upholstered seats.

This Jaguar E-Type Series 1 was delivered in 1968, was later verified in 2010 by the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust with an official certificate. The 4.2 liter E-Type has matching numbers and matching colors according to the Jaguar Heritage Production Record Trace Certificate and is registered as a veteran vehicle.
