Jaguar E-Type 4.2 Roadster Series 1
First registration 01.1965
FIVA Identity Card
Swiss road registration with veteran entry
The swinging sixties were only just beginning to gain momentum when Jaguar made a brilliant design statement at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1961, the impact of which would go beyond that of an iconic new sports car. Because with its sensually charged shapes and bold proportions – eternally long hood, short rear – the new Jaguar E-Type shaped a new era.
The design of the Jaguar E-Type came from Malcolm Sayers – the special appeal lay in the combination of charisma and driving performance. This Jaguar was intended to replace the D-Type used in racing, but was modified for the road after its retirement from motorsport. In terms of performance, the E-Type competed with sports cars in the highest performance class, but these were twice as expensive.
This Jaguar E-Type with 4.2-litre is already the advanced version after the 3.8-litre and therefore has the fully synchronized 4-speed gearbox. The visual features of the Series 1 make this E-Type the most desirable collector’s item and its delicate elegance is unfortunately no longer matched by the later models.
A few years ago, this E-Type 4.2 OTS was completely dismantled and restored. A detailed photo documentation documents the corresponding work. The car has a FIVA Identity Card, Swiss road registration and is veteran-approved.
We are offering this beautiful, sporty and passionate roadster in top-maintained and wonderful collector’s condition.
