Ferrari Dino 246 GTS
First registration 04.1973
Swiss delivery
Only two previous owners
Matching numbers and color
Swiss road registration
The Ferrari Dino 246 GTS offered here was produced in 1972 in the color Rosso Chiaro and with a brown-beige interior and delivered in April 1973 by the then Ferrari dealer Hoch & Zumstein in Zurich to a customer in the Zurich area. In 1976, the car was sold by the first owner and was then, believe it or not, in second ownership for over 47 years, where it was always cherished and cared for. This beautiful Ferrari Dino 246 GTS is maching numbers and color, has a Massini report and is in unrestored, top-maintained and absolutely original collector’s condition with its original 67,500 kilometers. The on-board folder with all original documents such as the service/warranty booklet with the first owner’s entry from 1973, user and maintenance manual, spare parts catalog, etc. are available.
The Dino 246 was presented at the Geneva Motor Show in spring 1969 as the successor to the Dino 206 GT, the first production car with a mid-engine produced by Ferrari. The designation “246” refers to the 2.4 liter displacement and the six cylinders of the engine.
The name “Dino” comes from Enzo Ferrari’s son Alfredo “Alfredino”, known as “Dino”, who died young in 1956. The V6 engine he designed was used in Formula 1 and Formula 2 racing cars in the late 1950s and in production sports cars from the late 1960s onwards.
