The Datsun 280Z is a timeless Japanese sports coupé that replaced the 260Z exclusively in North America in the summer of 1975. The 280Z was not offered in Europe. It is part of the highly successful Z series, which began with the 240Z and played a key role in popularizing Japanese sports cars worldwide.
The 280Z was equipped with a 2.8-liter inline six-cylinder engine that delivered around 170 hp and ensured smooth power delivery. It featured fuel injection based on the Bosch L-Jetronic principle, which was more precise and efficient than the carburetor technology of the previous models.
