The Datsun 240Z is one of the most legendary Japanese sports coupes of the 1970s – and is now considered an absolute classic.
The model offered here is a 1973 model intended for the US market, which was imported to Switzerland in 2016. It has been extensively repainted and optimized with a “Stage 1” performance upgrade by Swiss “Z specialist” Classic Car Performance. At the same time, the chassis, brakes, and transmission were also adapted to the increase in performance. The investments amounted to just under CHF 40,000 and are documented.

At the Tokyo Motor Show at the end of 1969, Nissan presented a new closed sports car as the successor to the Datsun Fairlady, which was marketed in Japan as the Fairlady and abroad as the Datsun 240Z.
The appearance of the 240Z was a sensation. The trade press drew comparisons with the MGB, the Jaguar E-Type, and the Porsche 911 – but in reality, the car was incomparable. Technically and visually, its appearance marked a whole new class of car.
Originally designed exclusively for the US market, this sports coupé became the world’s best-selling sports car in less than ten years.
