The Alfa Romeo Giulia Super 1600 Giardinetta is a rare, converted classic station wagon from the Giulia series, which was not intended for commercial use, but as a “Promiscua” (station wagon version) with the powerful 1600 engine, often with twin Weber carburetors. It was not built as standard by Alfa Romeo, but by specialized body shops such as Carrozzeria Colli, Grazia, or Giorgetti based on the series Giulia. These versions were only produced in very small numbers and were often manufactured specifically for institutions such as the Italian Polizia Stradale or as emergency vehicles for motorway operators.
The Alfa Romeo Giulia Super 1600 Giardinetta offered here was completed in mid-May 1970 in musk green with a wild boar leather Skai interior by Carrozzeria Grazia, Bologna, and then delivered to the motorway operator Autostrade S.p.A in Rome. In 1997, the car was sold to the Netherlands and then imported to Switzerland in 2013 by a Swiss collector and Alfa Romeo connoisseur, where it was restored under his supervision. This beautiful and rare Alfa Romeo Giulia Super 1600 Giardinetta is in top maintained and very original collector’s condition, with a freshly overhauled engine. The owner’s manual with original user and maintenance manual, Italian and Dutch papers, and many other documents and receipts are available.
