Griffith 200 – American power in a British tailor-made suit.
The Griffith 200 is a fascinating yet often underrated sports car from the 1960s—small, extremely lightweight, and surprisingly powerful. It was developed by Jack Griffith, an American car dealer and racing enthusiast. His idea was simple yet ingenious: take a lightweight British chassis and pair it with a powerful American V8 engine. The result: an extremely powerful car with an outstanding power-to-weight ratio—significantly faster than many established sports cars of the time. Only about 190 Griffith 200s were built in total. It stands alongside legendary concepts like the AC Cobra—uncompromising, raw, and incredibly fast.

On the Griffith 200 offered here, the fiberglass body was removed a few years ago and the tubular steel chassis was restored “frame-off.” Its Ford Windsor 289 series eight-cylinder engine with a displacement of 4,727 cc and the differential were overhauled, and the suspension, brakes, and electrical system were refurbished. The car arrived in Switzerland a little over a year ago and has a customs form 13.20 A. Upon purchase, it will be freshly inspected and registered. This beautiful and uncompromising Griffith 200 is in top collector’s condition, having just been serviced and fitted with new tires. Many documents and the original US title are available.
