Swiss road-legal veteran
The Fiat Dino Spider by Pininfarina—an Italian icon with a Ferrari engine—is, in essence, an open-top work of art from Turin with the voice of Maranello.
The Fiat Dino 2000 Spider offered here was delivered in Italy in 1967 and remained in the country for the next 56 years before finding its way into a Swiss collection. About three years ago, the engine, transmission, and all mechanical and electrical systems were completely overhauled at Dinopoint in Bergamo—arguably the most renowned Dino specialist—with no expense spared. This beautiful Fiat Dino Spider, featuring new or overhauled mechanical components, is in absolutely unique and completely original collector’s condition. The overhaul is documented with photos and invoices. Of particular note is the completely original and unwelded underbody. The car also comes with the original Italian registration papers, a user manual, a certificate from Club Dino Italia confirming its originality, and extracts from the ACI Automobile Club d’Italia detailing the ownership history. Also included is the spare tire, along with a jack and hammer.
The Fiat Dino is a particularly interesting model from the 1960s. It was the result of an unusual collaboration between Fiat and Ferrari—and was built so that Ferrari could homologate its racing engines.
