Jaguar XK 120 SE OTS
Date of manufacture 06.1954
Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate
Swiss road registration with veteran entry
The Jaguar XK 120 SE OTS offered here was completed in June 1954 and was destined for the US market in Los Angeles. It was imported to Switzerland in 1986 and is very well documented from then on with many documents such as invoices, photos, etc. The car was in the last ownership for 10 years, before that 28 years in the penultimate ownership. During this time, the bodywork was completely restored, among other things. Both side windows are present. This beautiful Jaguar XK 120 SE has always been professionally maintained and is, veteran-registered, in technically perfect and top-maintained collector’s condition.
The Jaguar XK 120 is a two-seater roadster which Jaguar launched in 1948 as the successor to the S.S.100.
The engine in the Jaguar XK 120 OTS (Open Two-Seater) has a displacement of 3442 cc and an output of 160 bhp. It drives the rear wheels via a four-speed gearbox with center shift. It helps the Roadster reach a top speed of 200 km/h. It is the first Jaguar engine with two overhead camshafts (dohc), which until then had only been attempted in very small series production. Nevertheless, it was an instant masterpiece of reliability and performance, which was installed in the manufacturer’s cars and also in military vehicles until 1992.
From 1951, Jaguar offered the XK 120 SE (SE for Special Equipment) with a more powerful 180 bhp engine, more extensive equipment and wire wheels. With this engine, a top speed of 210 km/h could be achieved. Externally, the more powerful car could be recognized by its twin exhaust. The SE package also included stiffer springs on the wheel suspensions. The SE was also built until 1954.
