Seeley motorcycles were so successful in competitions that Seeley earned a reputation as one of the best designers of motorcycle frames in the entire industry. In the 1970s, Seeley turned his attention to automobile racing. Bernie Ecclestone recruited him to join him as head of Motor Racing Developments, to work on the manufacture of the Brabham racing car and, from 1986, for the Formula One team of the same name.
